Excavator Attachments

Excavators can be said to be a staple of construction sites. It's highly common to see at least one excavator in every construction site around the city. They are commonly used in construction because of their versatility. Such all-purpose functionality comes from its ability to swap the attachment at the end of its arm to accommodate various tasks.

While the excavator we are all familiar with has a giant scooper with fork-like spikes at one tip for digging purposes, there are many more excavator attachments that provide it with a diverse array of functions.

Breaker Attachment

A breaker attachment is a drill-bit that allows the excavator to break into hard surfaces such as concrete. Once the concrete has been broken up with the breaker attachment, the excavator can now safely scoop up the remaining debris with its usual scooper. Because of the quick swapping functionality of attachments, this process is very quick and painless.

Auger Attachment

An auger attachment makes digging holes much easier. Similar to a screw in shape, it can easily make holes as big as 42 inches in diameter. This can be used in placing holes for fences, or for breaking especially tough soil.

Compaction Wheel

Another example of excavator attachment is the compaction wheel. A compactor wheel is composed of two or more metal wheels with spikes. They function similarly to tractor wheels, compacting and scarifying the ground.

An excavator can adapt to different construction situations by using different attachments. Whether you're looking to do some work on your backyard or you're looking for equipment for heavy construction duties, an excavator is an essential machinery, especially with its wide range of attachments.
